It's really exciting to launch your own website, but it can also be daunting as well because of a few "backend" actions you need to take. When you're thinking about having your own website, it's essential to figure out your web hosting options which is what allows you to "upload" your website online for the whole world to see and visit.

Innovation in new technologies and fierce competition from the many new web hosting start-ups, have created a lot of easy to use, affordable and value-packed options for new and existing website owners. However, with the good, comes the bad. Choosing the right web hosting company, even for seasoned internet users, can be very overwhelming. After all, which host service is the most affordable? Which one is the most user-friendly? Picking the wrong choice could be devastating for your website, your business, and even your state of mind.

Fortunately, many companies are trying to out-compete each in price and other benefits to customers like you for your long-term business making your online life a bit easier.

With the variety of plentiful web hosting companies out there, we decided to take a review the Top 15 of them and determine which of them fall in the Top 3. In doing so, we felt that value, reliability, and ease-of-use were the top concerns for most people, so we used that as our criteria for this project.

In a painstaking study which spanned over 9 months using over a hundred different websites in which we collected tons of information on web hosting services currently available.

Overall, we were quite impressed, but in the end, only settled on the three top choices.

Again, we reviewed the 15 best hosting service companies, using the following criteria:

  • Supreme Value - Was it worth the bang for the buck?
  • Excellent Uptime - Was the web hosting service 100% reliable?
  • Easy to Use - Was the service and website easy to use and navigate?

"Reliable, easy-to-use, and cheap..."

After reviewing the Top 15 web hosting companies, we found that Fat Cow ran away with the top choice.

Certainly this was a tough decision as there were several companies that may have come in a close second, but Fat Cow, really impressed us in every category we looked at. Their superior value and reliability were impressive, but it their service was also easy to use and navigate through.

When it comes to value and affordability Fat Cow came out on top among their competitors. For only $3.67 a month, they provide a bank of services, including a free domain name, free set-up fees, a free website builder, free analytic statistic tools, unlimited disk and bandwidth space, and unlimited email accounts.

And they didn't stop there. Fat Cow offers so many of the tools needed for free, we didn't believe it at first. Fat Cow allows you to create your own web store, accept credit cards, PayPal shopping integration with your website, shared SSL certificates, unlimited sub-domains, and excellent 24 hour technical support. Whew! And each of these are high quality services!

They also offer spam protection, unlimited POP mailbox accounts, unlimited databases for larger websites; they even offer free poll or survey tool software. In addition, they also offer coupons such as $75 credit for Google Ads, $50 for Facebook Ads, and $25 for Yahoo/Bing Advertisements. In addition, they also have a 60-day free trial of Constant Contact.

For sure, we knew the value was there, but how about their reliability? We may have unfairly been harder on Fat Cow, because we had never worked with them before, but we need to make sure that they were as dependable as they said they were. In fact, we tested and look at all of our websites, especially during highly anticipated peaks and found that Fat Cow exceeded our expectations. In fact, we had no problems with them whatsoever.

The next important factor on our scale was "ease of use." Would the "average Joe" be able to utilize Fat Cow's offerings? What we found was incredible. We instantly loved it. Fat Cow perfected what good User Interface (UI) should be with their dashboard. Easy and very simple to work with, Fat Cow took away the prize with their easy to use system.

While not in our "official" criteria, we had also placed several calls to the technical support, to note their customer service. We asked a variety of questions, from easy to very difficult and found that the representative on the line was very helpful and very knowledgeable.

Considering all the criteria and more, we are confident that at this time, Fat Cow reigns supreme as our top choice.

The Verdict: Extreme value, highly reliable, and very easy to use.

2. GoDaddy Web Hosting

GoDaddy has always been high among the industry leaders in web hosting. We found them to come in at a very close second place behind Fat Cow.

Seasoned and diversified, GoDaddy is a solid choice for web hosting services, among others. As the industry gold standard they are what many young web hosting start-ups strive to be. But how did they end up in second place?

While GoDaddy offers good value, they could improve with their product offerings. For example, they don't have and have never offered unlimited bandwidth and database space in most of their basic packages. The more you use the extra it cost. While this may seem reasonable, Fat Cow, and nearly every other company we looked at, offers these extras for free.

In addition, while GoDaddy is well known for reliability, we were caught off guard when two of our websites went down unexpectedly. We called the customer support line and reached a person who was very polite and who notified us that they had already been made aware of the problem, which was fixed in about an hour.

Their user interface has gone through several changes over the last few months, and we liked the improvements. It was simply easy to work with, and we loved it.

Overall, their value was strong, their service was superb, and their ease of use was incredible.

Even though, they came in a close second this time around, they remain a solid option for anyone looking for a dependable web hosting service.

3. iPage Hosting

iPage was our third and final choice out of the 15 web hosting companies we looked at.

iPage has been making news lately for hiring many good computer programmers and engineers. It's certainly has paid off as their growth in the industry speaks for itself.

We were especially excited to work with Ipage because they offer a tremendous value that is truly second to none.

They certainly offer a strong hosting solution that has become very competitive among the others: great value, great service, and excellent reliability. The very slight drawback was due to its more complicated user interface. One would have to be a bit more seasoned to work with launching your website through their control panel.

Yet, despite that, we believe iPage has a lot to offer and comes in a very solid third place among the Top 15 web hosting choices out there.
